The government has undertaken big projects to ensure that farmers can sell products produced at fair prices in line with international markets. At the same time, farmers will be encouraged to produce quality agricultural products through proper training. Thousands of farmers in 12 Upazilas of 4 districts of the country will be covered under this project initially. The Department of Agriculture Marketing (DAM) will implement the Tk 5 crore project in government financing.
According to project sources, the project has been taken to build a strong and efficient agricultural marketing system for agricultural development. According to the organizational structure of the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing, conducting country-wide marketing activities was another matter. For this, existing structures will be fully reorganized to ensure the functioning of the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing. And a total of 2,000 posts including Upazilas have been approved in the country.
Since the Agriculture Marketing Department does not have its own infrastructure or office building in the selected project area, the government spends only Tk 1 lakh 3 thousand per year on rent of office.
According to the source, the Department of Agriculture Marketing needs to be strengthened to conduct nationwide marketing activities and deliver marketing services. According to the new infrastructure, the Marketing Marketing Department needs to be strengthened and implemented to provide better services, infrastructure, and logistics facilities to the manufacturers, vendors, and consumers. Due to a lack of proper marketing, conservation, and processing infrastructure in the project area, there is a loss of control of agricultural products.
Five districts have been selected for the project. Under the new framework, the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing will be more effective and efficient by providing better services, infrastructure, and logistics facilities to producers, vendors, and consumers. Thus, the working conditions of the Department of Agriculture Marketing will increase manifold.

To meet the demands of quality control phytosanitary issues, the participation of the Agricultural Marketing Department is required as well as the development of the competence of the department.

‘Those who are in agriculture will be given training. They will be given ideas, equipment, and support. Under this project, farmers will receive training. Those in the agricultural marketing department will also receive training. ”
